What are ads on Apple Maps?
Ads on Apple Maps are paid placements inside the Maps app that put your business in front of people at the exact moment they search for what you sell. When someone nearby searches "coffee," "gym," or "florist," your business can appear at the top of results, clearly labeled as an ad, with your photos and a short promotional message. Your map pin gets a blue highlight so it stands out.
From the ad, a customer can get directions, call you, open your website, or browse your photos in one tap. This is the closest thing in advertising to standing outside your shop and waving at people who are already looking for you.
The scale is real: Apple reports more than one billion business searches on Apple Maps every month in the US and Canada, and about one in two of those searches leads to an action like getting directions or making a call.
Where your ad appears
Two placements, two moments:
After they search
Search results
When someone searches for a category or business, one ad appears at the top of the results. One. Not a wall of sponsored listings. If it's yours, you own that moment.
Before they search
Suggested Places
Before someone even types, Maps shows suggestions based on what's popular nearby and their recent searches. Your ad can appear at the top of that list.
Depending on the search, ads display with one image, three images, or text only.
One. Not a wall of sponsored listings.
Only one ad appears per set of Apple Maps search results.
How to get started
Four steps, and the first three are free:
-
Step 01
Claim your business on Apple Business.
Apple's free platform for business listings. Verification can take up to 5 business days, so start early.
-
Step 02
Polish your listing.
Photos, hours, category, contact info. Better listings make better ads.
-
Step 03
Create your ad.
Up to three photos and a short promotional message. Choose which locations to promote.
-
Step 04
Set a monthly budget and go live.
No minimum spend. Start or stop anytime. Add a credit card (that's what qualifies you for Apple's launch credits).
Want every step handled for you? We take a limited number of founding clients. Apply below.
Is your business eligible?
You qualify if you have a physical location customers can visit in the United States or Canada, a business address there, and a verified Apple Business profile.
Categories Apple restricts or blocks
Apple's policy blocks some categories entirely: home services (plumbers, electricians, locksmiths, HVAC, pest control, roofers, general contractors), bail bonds, and cryptocurrency ATMs. Medical services are reviewed case by case. Alcohol, gambling, and dating businesses can advertise but face extra rules.
Not sure where you land? Ask us. It's a two-minute answer and it's free.
Apple's launch promo, explained
Apple is giving early advertisers a reason to move:
Ongoing credit
15% back for a year
Eligible brands earn 15% of monthly ad spend back as credits, up to $1,000 per month, $12,000 total. The catch: your first campaign must be live on or before October 11, 2026, paid by credit card.
One time
$150 to start
New brands get a one-time $150 credit toward their first spend.
Both offers are Apple's, with Apple's terms (official eligibility page). Our job is making sure you qualify in time, because verification alone can take up to 5 business days. If you're reading this in October, stop reading and start verifying.
Two ways to do this
Do it yourself
Run it yourself, with our platform.
We're building the easiest way to run Apple Maps ads: guided setup, promotional text written for you, budget alerts, and weekly reports in plain English instead of dashboards you need a course to read. Join the waitlist and you'll get founding pricing when it opens.
Done for you
Have it run for you.
Our team sets up your Apple Business profile, builds your campaign, manages your budget, and sends you results weekly. We're taking a limited founding group before the October 11 promo deadline.

Apple Maps ads: every question, answered
What are ads on Apple Maps?
Paid placements in the Apple Maps app that show your business at the top of relevant local searches or in Suggested Places. They launched August 14, 2026 in the US and Canada. Ads are clearly labeled, and the promoted pin gets a blue highlight.
How do I advertise my business on Apple Maps?
Claim and verify your business on Apple Business (free), then create an ad with photos and a short promotional message, choose your locations, set a monthly budget, and add a credit card. Campaigns start and stop whenever you want. The four-step walkthrough above covers it, or we can do it all for you.
How much do Apple Maps ads cost?
Whatever monthly budget you choose; there is no minimum spend. Pricing is auction based: you pay when someone taps your ad (cost per tap), or per thousand views with some advanced bid strategies. Actual tap prices depend on competition in your area and category. The platform is brand new, so honest answer: public benchmarks don't exist yet. We're running live campaigns and publishing real numbers; the waitlist gets them first.
Is there a minimum budget?
No. You set a monthly maximum, and you can pause or stop anytime.
Where do Apple Maps ads appear?
Two placements: the top of relevant search results, and the Suggested Places section people see before they search. Depending on the query, the ad shows with one image, three images, or as text only. Only one ad appears per set of search results.
Is my business eligible for Apple Maps ads?
You need a physical location customers can visit in the US or Canada, a business address in those countries, and a verified profile on Apple Business.
Which businesses can't advertise on Apple Maps?
Apple's policy prohibits home services (plumbing, electrical, locksmith, HVAC, pest control, roofing, general contracting), bail bonds, and cryptocurrency ATMs. Medical services are evaluated case by case. Alcohol, gambling, and dating come with extra restrictions. If you're not sure where your business lands, ask us.
What is the Apple Maps ads promo?
Eligible brands earn 15% of monthly ad spend back as credits for their first year, up to $1,000 per month and $12,000 total, plus a one-time $150 sign-up credit for new brands. Your first campaign must be live on or before October 11, 2026, paid by credit card. Terms are Apple's.
Do I need Apple Business Connect?
Business Connect was folded into Apple Business in April 2026, so yes, in its new form: your listing lives in Apple Business, verification is required, and it's free. Ads are created from the same place.
How are Apple Maps ads different from Google Maps ads?
Same idea, different rules. Apple shows only one ad per result set, bans home services categories that Google allows, matches ads without tracking individual users, and is currently offering launch credits. Google has years of data and more ad surface. Many businesses will simply run both.
What can customers do from my ad?
Tap for directions, call you, open your website, view photos, share your business, or download your app. You see a count for each action.
What results will I see?
Impressions, taps on your ad, and taps on each action (directions, calls, website, photos, share, app), grouped by location and by campaign.
Does Apple track my customers for these ads?
No. Ads are matched using signals like approximate device location, the current map view, your business information, and the search query. Apple says no individual profiles are built, and advertisers never see personal data.
How long does it take to get started?
Creating the ad takes minutes. Verifying your business on Apple Business can take up to 5 business days, which matters if you want the October 11 promo.
Can I advertise multiple locations?
Yes. Promote all locations or specific ones, and with the advanced tools, locations can be grouped (all stores in one city, or a set of franchises) and managed together. Multi-location setups are where management help pays for itself fastest.
Are Apple Maps ads worth it?
Truthfully: the platform is days old, so nobody has long-term data yet. The case for trying now: high-intent searches (a billion-plus per month, per Apple), budgets you fully control with no minimums, and launch credits cutting costs by 15%. The case for waiting: no benchmarks yet. We're generating those benchmarks with real campaigns and publishing them; join the waitlist to see them first.
Can someone manage Apple Maps ads for me?
Yes. Apple supports authorized agencies, and clients delegate ad management through Apple Business. We run campaigns end to end for a limited founding group: setup, creative, budgets, and weekly plain-English reporting. Apply above.
